IMO, this is what makes BB worth the investment. Like every year in December, PG Music has released a new version of Band in a Box I have already downloaded mine and can say that is well worth the price (which, if you upgrade from a previous version, is really a bargain). The PlusPAK includes 2019 Band-in-a-Box and RealBand, sets 301 to 328 RealTracks sets (for a total of 202 RealTracks). These are live performances of riffs and licks and runs, etc., on a variety of instruments that BB seamlessly adds to your MIDI accompaniment giving your composition a very real 'human' feel. If you use Band-in-a-Box and purchased the UltraPlus PAK, Everything PAK or Audiophile edition in 2018 then the most cost effective upgrade is the 99 PlusPAK. Most of the analogue keyboards, like Yamaha, require a MIDI interface gizmo to work with a computer.īand in a Box is a great sequencer/composer, but only if you get one of the packages that contain the Real Tracks. With programs like Reason and it's packages, you could use this keyboard to play instruments in an orchestra if you desired. It's likely that you could actually use the MIDI keyboard to play any virtual instrument in the program in real time, which may save you steps and is a real boon if you are a pianist and don't really know guitar.



With one of these, if you use an audio recording package like Band in a Box or Reason or the like that has MIDI support and virtual instruments, you can use this keyboard i n-program to compose. It is essentially a workstation specifically designed for doing MIDI sequences and composition. Electronic keyboards may be able to, but they usually have MIDI support for sequencing, so they may suit your needs as well.īut what I'm talking about is specifically a MIDI Keyboard.
